BleepingComputer.com: Windows 7 not installing properly

Im trying to install Windows 7 on a new computer that i built me self but when i get to the point in setup when you click install now, i get this message:

"The instruction at 0xfe17234d referenced memory at 0xca993c90. The memory could not be read."

I can't figure out what is happening and its preventing me from installing Windows 7 on my computer. Please Help.

Assume you have tried reseating/swapping around memory. If you have more than one stick of RAM try one at a time.
What is config of your PC.

May also want to switch to defaults in the BIOS, that's what I do every time I put in a hardware upgrade.

i just built the computer. i have no operating system on it. i tried using reinstall disks for windows but it wasnt working so i bought windows seven

You may have bad RAM.

***** A. If you have more than one RAM module installed, try starting computer with one RAM stick at a time.

NOTE Keep in mind, the manual check listed above is always superior to the software check, listed below. DO NOT proceed with memtest, if you can go with option A

B. If you have only one RAM stick installed...
...run memtest...

1. Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)
2. Unzip downloaded memtest86+-....iso.zip file.
3. Inside, you'll find memtest86+-....iso file.
4. Download, and install ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/
5. Insert blank CD into your CD drive.
6. Open ImgBurn, and click on Write image file to disc
7. Click on Browse for a file... icon:



8. Locate memtest86+-....iso file, and click Open button.
9. Click on ImgBurn green arrow to start burning bootable memtest86 CD:



10. Once the CD is created, boot from it, and memtest will automatically start to run.

The running program will look something like this depending on the size and number of ram modules installed:




It's recommended to run 5-6 passes. Each pass contains very same 8 tests.

This will show the progress of the test. It can take a while. Be patient, or leave it running overnight.

The most important item here is the “errors” line. If you see ANY errors, even one, most likely, you have bad RAM.

Since you've already done the "use 1 stick" test, you probably don't need to use Memtest. But if you want to be sure you won't have anymore problems, it is probably a good idea to go ahead and run the test (it can't hurt).

Does your PC actually meet the requirements.

Nothing seems to be working...im just gonna send back my RAM and get a replacement and if that doesn't work i'll have to send it all back. Also i'm not sure about this requirement for Windows 7 "DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver" because my motherboard has integrated graphics.

All of that was taken from the specifications on newegg.com. Those are the only things i have in my computer.

By any chance do you have a Vista Install CD handy? Also are you using the latest BIOS for your motherboard?

I have a Windows Vista RE-install disk if I could use that and how would i check if my BIOS is up to date?
