ANYWAYS, i have Windows Server 2008 installed and i need to reinstall my operating system. Here's my question, i only use the server for Proxy, FTP, File Sharing, and light HTTP use whenever i test out html files or php scripts. I just hooked it up to my 60" plasma through HDMI with a video card so i will probably start watching movies off it too.
So, should i just install Win7 and setup apache on there? I no longer have need for the IIS functions and just a basic web server will work, so i'll probably go back to Apache.
I heard that Windows Server 2008 R2 is just for 64bit computers, is this true?
What do you guys think? I'm sure Win7 will give me all the functions i need and i dont think i will miss anything from server...just trying to get everyone's opinion.
EDIT: The computer i'm using is a Dell Optiplex 745, i'm not sure if it supports 64 bit or not.
THANKS!!
