I'll be fine with my inferior IE6 >:D

....besides, I've more or less converted to Firefox anyways, so it doesn't matter too much.

Not entirely true. Windows uses the IE engine in a number of places, like in showing help files, Outlook and Outlook Express, displaying the Control Panel, and others.

The speed increase is primarily in the javascript rendering engine, and is partly based on the fact that it actually utilizes multiple core systems. Javascript in IE8 is slow compared to other browsers, but most people do not even notice. I notice because some of the web aps that I work on have thousands of lines of javascript.

First post for this new member. Hello everyone. :thumbsup:

I wonder if IE9 can be configured the way I do IE6.

With IE6 I'm able to combine all the upper toolbars into one bar to save space.
I haven't been able to do that with IE8, yet.

My reasoning is that I want the most available vertical space to compensate for these darn "Short Screens" (common name: widescreen).

I like the idea of using all the cpu cores. I'll have to try it.

THe only thing available right now is t he developer's preview. It is not yet a usable browser.

Haha...too true. :thumbsup:

IE8 sucks pretty bad. IE7 was usable, but I still didn't like it. I've been a Firefox convert since Summer 2009, and I'll never go back to IE. :flowers:

I'll probably install version 9 if/when it comes out in Windows Update, but that's only because it's new and I'm curious. I'll never use it unless I have to (rarely, I'll find a website that will only work in IE). Won't change much for me...Firefox still rules, in my opinion. :trumpet:

Me Too I like my old HP DV 9000 for that reason bought a new Dell 17" that is half the size screen wise have to scroll too much.Hello computer makers WTF are you thinking.Hello Anyone Home. :thumbsup:

I had to uninstall Firefox as it kept crashing my computer something on my computer doesn't like Firefox :flowers:
