White lines

Hi All,

I have a neighbor with an HP Pavillion lap top and she tells me when she boots up she sometimes gets white vertical lines on her screen and then the machine shuts down. I had it for about an hour last night and I had no problems with it. She did tell me it only happens at one outlet in her home but that she has no problems with another lap top when it is plugged into the same outlet????? I know it could be alot of things and I hav limited information. She is running Vista and thats about all I know. Is anyone else had a problem like this with HP laptops?

Ask her not to use that specific outlet for a few days and see what happens.
