For the past month my computer has been randomly getting the BSOD. It happens when I am on it and also when I am away, never the same thing twice however.

I just built my PC with the help of an experienced friend and for the first 30 days I had no issues, since then (about another 30 days) its been a rampant issue. I followed the direction on this thread and have the log file below. I have also uploaded the latest .dmp file here. I am running a quad core AMD 64 bit processor with 4GB of DD3 RAM and windows 7 ultimate edition. Please let me know if you need additional information.

Also, one last thing, the computer is having some very bad sleep issues. If I put it in sleep sometimes it powers everything down but the PC and it becomes unresponsive. Sometimes it wont wake up out of sleep either. Not sure if maybe there related or not.

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
		use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050031
Arg3: 00000000000006f8
Arg4: fffff80002c7b591

Hmmm....

Well, with the Kernel, it could be anything.

You said the PC was homemade. Did you go to the website of all the manufacturers of your hardware components (graphics card, sound, hdd, etc..) and download up-to-date Windows 7 drivers?

Sleep problems are 99% of the time directly related to improper or old graphics card drivers. Update all the drivers you can (let me know which ones you can't, if any), and we'll see where things go from there.

What anti-virus program are you using?

Well I am just going to run down the list of all the hardware and the drivers I have (bought it all from newegg.com).

*GIGABYTE GN-WP01GS PCI Wireless Adapter -
*Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB- This is my hard drive, here is the offical page, no drivers (did not think you would need drivers for hardrive?)
*Sony Optiarc 24X DVD/CD Rewritable Drive (Again, do you need drivers for this, Win 7 picked it up fine and honestly I never even use it)
*G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL (This is my memory, no drivers installed...)
*ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard- I went to ASUS website and downloaded the latest drivers for the the integrated sound card.
*AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor Model ADX620WFGIBOX- No drivers installed
*e-GeForce 8800 GTS video card- This was the first guess I had on the problem I was having. I am not sure what my friend installed when we first started so I downloaded this driver. This appeared to be just a generic 8 series driver. I originally went to Nvidia's website and looked for the drivers under the product name, there were no drivers for 64 bit windows (see here)

That pretty much it as hardware goes.

"Sleep problems are 99% of the time directly related to improper or old graphics card drivers. Update all the drivers you can (let me know which ones you can't, if any), and we'll see where things go from there."

There are multiple drivers for the video card? I just installed the one listed above.

"What anti-virus program are you using?"
I was using AVG free but I turned it off when I started uninstalling all the software that was around the time that I started having issues. I have Malware Bytes installed and have run it multiple times looking for malware, its all clean (although it did find 2 on its first pass). I also ran Panda Scan and fixed all the things it found. I am still having the random crashes.

Going to install AVG again and run some scan over the night, will report back if it finds anything but my guess is that its clean.

Hmm...no Windows 7 64-bit drivers...

Sorry for being unclear about that. There is only one driver for the graphics card. I was talking about all your drivers in general, but since the graphics is the only one that is giving you issues, don't worry about the rest.

What exactly was found? If you have malware, I'll send you to the Am I Infected sub-forum. I'll bet your problems are still driver related, but I'm not going to mess with things if I don't know for sure that you're clean. Better to be safe than sorry...

I mean, if it worked for a month then suddenly started having problems, it probably is more than just a driver. If the driver worked yesterday (or a month ago), it shouldn't quit today (or whenever).

The files it identified as malware were actually not malware. They were files for unlocking my smartphone and other .exe that I know for sure were not Malware. It removed them fine and didnt find anything on the second pass... what would you recommend I do?

Did the driver above look like the right one (for the video card)? Could this possibly be a flash issue? It runs really slow on my computer, it however has gotten the BSOD when flash was not present so maybe not.

Ok I followed this thread over at that sub-form you mentioned.

I know have Spybot search and destroy, ad-aware, avast, and spywareblaster installed. I ran scans on all of them and the only thing that turned up were some bad cookies. I was already running a firewall (ZoneAlarm).

While installing and doing the scans I got 2 BSOD...

This is becoming a huge issue as I work from home and this is my work computer. What else can I try? I have updated the drivers, thoroughly scanned for virus, spyware, malware, what is next?

You're not running more than one of those as active protection, right? You should pick one active protection, and use multiple on-demand scanners. Using more than one active protection anti-virus is asking for disaster.

As for the driver, it looks okay to me. It says Windows 7 64-bit and it has your model in the list of supported products. But I will tell you this: the majority of the graphics card driver problems in the Windows 7 sub-forum are caused by Nvidia hardware. I don't know what it is about Nvidia's products or software (the drivers), but they don't seem to play nice with Windows 7.

Do you have an spare video card to put in it? If so, we can narrow it down to the Nvidia card. I'll bet that it is the cause of your problems, but without having another to try in its place, there is no way to know for sure. Can you pop another in there?

No I dont have an extra one...

Thing that is strange is that when it crashes I am never doing anything graphically intensive. The little bit of games I have played on it, never crashed, movies, never crashed. Open up a spread sheet, crash, very strange.

Plus I never had a BSOD until 30 days AFTER I got it, does not seem like it adds up...

Could this possible be a flash issue? I had a ton of trouble with flash (about a month ago). It currently does not work at all in IE but does in Firefox. I opened 5 flash websites in different tabs and it didn't crash but then walked back about a hour later and it did... Going to uninstall flash and see if that helps.

Yes, manually uninstall Flash Player and see if you get the same crashing (if you do, then Flash is not the problem). If you don't get a crash, install it again and observe it again. If it crashes only when Flash Player is installed, then that is likely linked to your problem, if it isn't the cause itself (which is entirely possible).

I will give it a try but just got two BSOD right in a row... one right after a clean reboot (from the first BSOD). I really do not know what to do... this is my work PC and this is really killing me!

Well, if you wanted a work PC, you should have just bought one instead of building one yourself. PC manufacturers have warranties and service support for their products. When you build your own, you're on your own, as far as troubleshooting goes. Each part you use has some manufacturer's warranty, but when you don't know exactly what is causing the problem, fixing it can be a hassle. It can be a learning experience (which I, myself, always enjoy), but when you need a computer that you know will always work, go buy one instead.

I'll still do my best to help you resolve your problems, but I thought I'd just let you know how it is. All computers are prone to problems...but manufactured ones can be replaced or repaired under warranty. You don't have that option.

I know nothing about building computers, so I don't know what questions to ask about your hardware. We've already talked about drivers. The only option I see at this point is to format and reinstall Windows. If you still get BSOD's, then the problem is related to your hardware. As of now, it could be a software problem. A reformat would eradicate any software-related issues (assuming you don't install the same software immediately). You would have to slowly install each program one at a time to try to see which one, if any, is causing the problems.
