BleepingComputer.com: help! i want to play dk!

well anyway the game run perfectly in my virtual pc with windos xp sp2 the problem is, the virtual pc sound card sound blaster 16 will not install. i have tried manually adding the hardware and installing the drivers and installing drivers from the creative site. and the device manager still shows it with an exclamation mark! under properties is say the device cannot start. (code 10)

wow, had to dig into tha tombs for this. I never played DK, only DK2, and I never remember any problems, but hey, that was quite a bit ago. But some years back I did want to play redneck rampage a set of game designed for DOS, and had a heck of a time running the sound on XP. Low and behold someone had the same problem and they were a programmer. Dont know if this will work for you, bet it will tho. Its called VDMSound, and you can grab it for free off sourceforge.
