BleepingComputer.com: Using Windows XP and Windows 7 on same computer

I have Windows 7 installed on my computer and would like to add Windows XP Pro or Home to this hard drive in order to run a few programs that do not run well on Windows 7. Is this possible if I create a partition for XP?

You have several options...
You can create real partition, you can create virtual partition, or you can use Win 7 XP mode.

or if you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, you can use XP Mode (assuming your processor supports Hardware Assisted Virtualization). You cannot use XP Mode if you have Home Premium and/or a processor that does not have HAV. In that case, your other option would be a normal virtual machine, or a dual-boot (using the tutorial I linked to).

Well, it's not so much a workaround as it is just installing XP in a regular virtual machine (like I said in my post).

But yes, you can do that instead of dual-booting.
