Hi,

I have a recent problem with the Windows and Office updates. I have the automatic update activated but only to be advised and not install.

The following updates download but will not install.

Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 (KB976881)
Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB978380)
Malware Removal Tool Microsoft Windows - Marzo 2010 (KB890830)
Protection for Windows XP (KB975561)
Protection for Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (KB978474)
Spam Filter for Outlook 2003 (KB979771)

A funny thing is the KB978380 Update for Office 2007. I have Office 2003.

Attached you can find Error records from the Event Viewer.

Thank you for your help.

Computer: Windows XP Pro Sp2 512MB RAM 80GB Hard Drive. Pent 4 3.00Ghz

OK,

I have downloaded from the MS Download website and tried to install myself.

I have successfully installed 2 of the updates: KB978380, KB975561 and run the Malware KB890830.

However, KB976881, KB978474 and KB979771 will still not install. None of the Office programs were running at the time, in fact no programs were running.
