Open device manager. Go to each item's properties on the list and select Update drivers. Then let it do an online search for updated drivers. I personally wouldn't change the System devices, but check the modems, monitors, network adapter, hard drives, etc. Set a restore point first in case you hose it. If you do have a problem after changing a driver, you can use the driver properties tab on any device to roll back to the previous version.

Yes, it very well could be.

If not, then it's your graphics card.

Go get the PSU cryptodan recommended, and go from there.

well we would have to take the PSU out of our computer right now, return it and then get a new one with store credit or something

we bought it at best buy and we would have to have someone remove it, then return it, get a new one, have someone put that one in, and see if that makes a difference

if it was my graphics card what could it be and how can i tell specificly if its my graphics card or not, or can i

ill try to get a new psu soon anyway but i have one problem... my PSU atm is a tight fit in my case and im not sure a bigger one will fit.. the current one is

Product Height 6"

Product Width 3.4"

Product Depth 6.25"

The Corsair 650w you mentioned is

Product Height 3.4"

Product Width 5.9"

Product Depth 6.3"

I really dont think it will fit..

Did the Geeks do the upgrades when you got the new power supply and GPU? Either way, maybe you should take the box to Best Buy and tell them about the problem that started soon after the upgrade. It really does sound like video or power, judging by the symptoms. Make sure they understand the problem started very soon after the upgrade.

If your case is an ATX Case the power supply I picked will fit. Replacing a powersupply is extremely easy to do.

We had some guy at a LAN that we know install the PSU because Best Buy charges like 60$ for them to do anything and he only charged like 20$ cause we've known him for awhile. We watched him do it everything was connected good and everything so IDK

How can I tell what case I have, its just a prebuilt computer from bestbuy so I dont know all the stuff about it

Well tomorrow we are going to take it in and tell them whats happening and see if we can return the PSU and get a new one.

I can try and take pictures tomorrow cause I dont have a camera atm

Another thing i wanted to know is how hot is 'overheating' or too hot for a computer/graphics card.

I downloaded SpeedFan to see what the temperatures were when I was ingame and when I was just idle and out of game,

when I'm not playing the temperatures are around:

and when Im in game the GPU goes upto 55-60 Celsius and the Temp1 (IDK what this is exactly) goes to around 50 Celsius

my card like i said is a Verto Nvidia GT 220 1GB, DDR2 i believe

also my computer tower sits below my desk and the side with the vents is facing towards my desk wall, would this be blocking alot of the airflow and adding to the heat? i think im going to move it to the other side, but then it would be sitting on the carpet.. is there any such thing as like a big cooling pad i could place the computer on on the ground, or would that even make any difference

you will want the induction air vents unobstructed as well as the exhaust vents.
