Help
I have a problem with sound card... Suddenly, from nowhere I lost sound... When I clik on volume tab, it said : "There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices..." But, when I restart computer everything is normal again... Why is this happening? It started few days ago... Only changes I have made in computer is that recently I started to update Windows, which I haven't done long time ago... Also I noticed ( but maybe its coincidence) that every time when I lost sound, I was on youtube... I looked for some solutions, one of them was to open services.msc , but there under Windows Audio and "Service status" Start is already selected and everything is ok... If you have some ideas to help me, I would appreciate that! Thanks!

Try system restore, then if that fails, reinstall your sound drivers.

The problem is that I don't have sound drivers on CD... and few days ago I cleaned my computer from malwares, and after that I deleted all previous system restore points. So... is there any other solution?

You can download the appropriate drivers...from the website of your system manufacturer.
If a custom/self-built system, then drivers for onboard sound are available at the website of the motherboard manufacturer.
If a physical sound card has been installed (as opposed to onboard soundchip that comes with motherboard), the website of the device manufacturer is where to look for drivers.
If onboard sound, then the chip function could be going bad...easily solved by installing a PCI soundcard.

I'm not so good about computers.... But I know that my sound card is integrated on motherboard... Can you tell me where can I look to find what is my motherboard name and type... to find appropriate drivers for sound card.

I installed new drivers for sound card, and everything seems ok for couple hours... but I lost sound again... Is there any other solution? What it could be?
