Got this error message, 0x00000024 Error on my mom's Dell desktop with XP. What to do?

Use the Dell Diagnostic software to access the Recovery Console.

Try to run the chkdsk /r command from the Recovery Console.

How to use CHKDSK in the XP Recovery Console - http://pirules3.14.googlepages.com/recovery_console_chkdsk

If any onscreen error messages appear while chkdsk /r is trying to complete...post same.

How does she start the Dell Diagnostic Software? Is it built in on the computer, or, is there a CD that she'll have to run?

It's either a B110 or a 8110. My mother can't read the difference.
