hi guys...

i have windows 7 and i want to make new recovery discs so if my computer gets infected i can restore it back to factory settings.

problem is, when i try to make them, the first disc burns fine....and then it stops at verifying for a long time. eventually, it says "error code (insert random combo of numbers/letters here) verify failed" and it follows with "please insert a new blank DVD." if i insert a new blank DVD, then it just does the whole process over again. i've tried three times.

if it helps, i have an acer aspire 5532.

any ideas on how to fix this? thanks in advance.

Those Random numbers and letters are important and need to be precisely copied

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

I ran into a very similar problem with an HP running Vista and made a lot of coasters!

The solution was to use ONLY the burning software that came preinstalled with the system.
In my case I had uninstalled Roxio in favor of Nero which did not work.

I also found that in my case I had to use the +R disks, -R will not work.
Dont know why.
In the beginning there was the command line.

You also need to burn at a slow speed ... I use ImgBurn and haven't had a failure yet.
