Hey all... I'm new here (interactively, that is - I look to this site often)

I'm embarrassed to be as computer-illiterate as I am, having used and worked with them daily for a long time. I must have a missing gene or something, because I feel like I'm on a completely foreign planet when I try to figure out problems (or investigate because I'm just flat out curious).

Sometimes it works, usually I just find more things I don't understand. <g>

I hesitated about registering because I don't even know how to ask relevant questions in many circumstances.... I'm just pitiful, here.

I won't post my specific problems here, per the rules, but I am here because of them (combined with much confusion). I have three laptops (well, in this particular state) that I have large and small issues and questions with and am getting nowhere with. I prefer to solve problems by doing things myself (with help/guidance, that is) because that's the only way I'll learn something.

Sending it off to someone or somewhere is necessary sometimes, but I don't like being oblivious to what has been changed, added, removed, etc., discovering things I don't recognize or know what to do with... but that's me. And likely why I sit here with broken machines.

So I'm here to respectfully and hopefully learn something.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer.

Please take the time to browse the New User Orientation forum, to help familiarize yourself with how the board works.

Also, don't forget to check out the Tutorials.
There's a lot of very useful information, in there.

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits
