Well, yesterday I finally decided to buy Windows 7 and install a new OS, bad idea I think. I bought and installed Windows 7 64 bit version Home Edition. Since then my computer has been freezing at random. It freezez when I try to take it off screen saver and freezes when I'm on the internet. It freezes when i try to install software. Somtimes it completly freezes, somtimes it freezes everything but my mouse. Somtimes if I wait long enough it will unfreeze and other times I have to shut the computer off. What do I do? There really is no pattern to go off of. I did reinstall windows agian, but it really hasnt helped. In case you are wondering what my hardware is I will list it.

Motherboard: Gigabyte M61P-S3
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ 2.80 GHz
Ram: 4.00 GB
Video Card: Radeon 5700

Thank you for your help.

Was it an upgrade, or clean install?

If I remove the Catalyst Control Center will it stop my video card from working?

No it wont, the Catalyst Control Center has been notorious for causing issues. Its one reason I no longer support ATI and support nVidia instead.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

Well, the log really doesn't show anything except for known facts, computer froze and you did shut it down manually.

Will the computer operate fine in Safe Mode?

Well that didn't work. It froze and I rebooted and it had to do a startup repair. It then resored to and earlier point.

I just checked those out and they all look good. I have a cooler master case with two 80 mm fans and and two 120 mm fans.
