setuping a default user profile with My Documents redirection

I have XP SP3 machines in a domain. there's a policy for My Documents redirection to the network drive (each users have their own folder on the network drive). I would like to setup a dummy profile with all the appropriate settings. I copied the dummy profile to the default user profile; however, all the users logged on with My Documents mapped to the dummy profile. Is there anyway to fix this? Or can anyone suggest a better way to setup a standard profile?
