I've just joined and followed the suggestion to introduce myself. My user name is Algypug (don't ask!). Actually, if anyone out there recognises the name, do get in touch!

I'm an ageing (60 next month) software developer currently working with Visual Studio writing code for short range wireless measuring instruments from a Japanese manufacturer. Keeps the brain ticking over. If anyone's interested, my first development system was an Intel MDS on which I developed code in 8085 assembly language. My how things have changed - mostly for the better. I've kept up to speed more or less, but I'm constantly amazed and humbled by the work of so many young developers out there. Bravo, guys!

My initial interest here is the Startup list. Until last year I was using an app called "The Ultimate Troubleshooter" (TUT) from Answers That Work, but unfortunately it doesn't work on Win 7. The advice given on startups, and services was generally pretty good.

If I can contribute in any way, I shall certainly try.

Cheers!

PS I'm in the UK.

Hello and  to Bleeping Computer.

Be sure to check out the New User Orientation and the excellent Tutorials.
