I've tried getting help at a different forum but lately it seems as if I won't be able to solve the problem so here I am trying to see if anyone here could help me out.

Anyway. I'm using a laptop and running Vista Home Premium and a couple of weeks ago I wasn't able to connect to the internet through wifi as it didn't seem to get the signal from the router. I eventually got frustrated and I tried thinking of ways to get a connection and I eventually thought of disabling one of the Wireless Network Connection or the Local Area Connection (I don't quite remember which one I disabled and yes, I know it seems a really dumb move on my part). After that I restarted my laptop and while it was trying to startup I got a blue screen which I think means my computer crashed and it was doing a memory dump if I remember correctly. Through persistence I was able to get it to recover somehow and start up normally. When it did start up normally my laptop seemed slower and i get an initial error message saying:

Host Process for Windows Services stopped working and was closed.
A problem caused the application to stop working correctly, Windows will notify you if a solution is avaiable.

After that the task bar starts changing and looks like I'm running Windows 98. It would go back to normal and then I get a second error message saying:

Microsoft Windows Search Indexer stopped working and was closed.
A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is avaiable.

That task bar would start acting up a second time and it would change back to normal and then I'm able to use my computer normally. These error messages and task bar changes/annoyances always occur after a restart or just starting up my laptop after it has been off. If I'm not mistaken, these errors are supposedly common to Vista but for me I still can't and haven't been able to fix them.

So far I've been told to delete everything in these two locations:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Temp

but I haven't been able to as it gives me a message that some files are in use in another program. Even FileAssassin in MBAM doesn't work. I've also used combifx, downoaded as 456out.com and it apparently removed some problem files but not the main problems which I'm having. So that's pretty much it. I would appreciate help to get this resolved. Thanks!

Only was able to reply now, sorry about that..

Anyway... is that the "view problem history" section? And I'm a bit confused... you just want me to list all the problems I have? If so, then it's basically just the basically the ff:

Windows Update - stopped working - some reports sent, some not
Microsoft Windows Search Indexer - stopped working

as well as:
divxsm - stopped working - some reports sent, some not

Should I be posting the problem signature as well?
