I have auto update on my windows. For some time now my computer always tells me there are updates, and when I go to try and download them I get a box saying it could not download service pack 3. I sometimes get this error also...
Service Pack 3 installation did not complete. Windows XP has been partially updated and may not work properly.

Go here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...08-1e1555d4f3d4

That is XP SP 3, to burn on a cd. You save it to a file or folder. Then using a cd burner, burn a ISO image of this. Free program, cd burner xp is available from filehippo.com. Nero would work, as others. But needs to be an iso img.

That way you have only ONE download, and a cd to work with.

I assume you have SP 1 and SP 2 installed with no issues.

Have you done a malware scan with Malwarebytes (Free) or Superantispyware or a similar program recently. Just to be sure...

I would also make sure all your computer's software is updated to the latest along with all your hardware drivers.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
