Hi all,

I'm hoping for help on my STAC 92xx c-major hd audio sound card.

I recently had to reinstall windows (xp windows media center edition v5.1) on my computer. When I was done I did not have sound through my speakers. My computer is registering my sound card as an unknown device and I can't seem to find the driver for the card anywhere. I've tried downloading a couple of different ones I've found, but the system is saying the driver is not compatable.

Please note, for some reason the driver that was connected to my service tag would not work and gave me the same error.

If any additional information is needed please let me know. Thank you.

Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver

There are 5 different drivers for your model. Are you sure yours is the Sigmatel?
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...p;fileid=165080

Download it to your Desktop:

Quote

1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R124105.EXE.
2.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or
unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R124105. Write down this path so the executable (I.e.
Setup.exe) file can be found later.
3.The Self-Extractor window appears.
4.Click OK.
5.After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
window is still open, close it.
6.Click the Start button and then click Run.
7.Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R124105 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
8.Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

Try that first and if it doesn't work, uninstall it. Install the UAA driver and try it again
