BleepingComputer.com: Partioning On windows 7 please help

hello If you look at the link below you will see an image of my laptop disk management

as you can see i have


a: c drive = which is 254gb hard drive which has my main os windows 7 on it

d: drive = which is my recovey ppartion and it is 13gb


THEN I HAVE 2 OTHER PARTIONS WHICH ARE


hp tools which is 99mb


and system which is 199mb


OUT OF THESE 2 CAN I DELeTE THEM, i know that i have (the unallocated partion which i know about) but can i get rid of the hp tools and deltet it , and is it dafe to do this also whats inside that partion and whats inside system beacuse i need to DELTE 1 OUT OF THEM 2 PARTIONS but i need to know which to delte
OR
the reason for this is beacuse i need to create another partiotion , but beacse i have already have 4 it restrics me to only have 4partions , can i over come this restiction beacuse i want to make a new partion so that i can install ubuntu. is there any way to overcome that and so that i can make more partions

or shall i just delte that hp partion which is only 99mb and i dont even know whats i used for ???

Okay, here's what I would recommend:

Leave the current configuration of your partitions alone. Don't delete anything.

Create a Logical volume/partition in the unallocated space. It will not let you create another Primary partition/volume (limit is 4), but you should still be able to install Ubuntu onto a Logical partition (number of Logical partitions is limitless).

Try creating a logical partition, and installing Ubuntu onto it. And if you have problems, visit the Linux sub-forum.

Simply right-click the unallocated space, and click "New Simple Volume". "Next" your way through the prompts, stopping on the one with settings: file system, name, etc. Chose NTFS as the file system, and change the name "New Volume" to "Ubuntu" or something descriptive like that. Click "Finish", and you should be done. After the new partition is made, there will be a colored box around it, and it will say "Logical" inside the box somewhere.

That should get you the partition you need. As far as installing Ubuntu goes, you will have to ask for advice in the Linux sub-forum, not here (if you can't do it alone, or things screw up).

Hello this doesnt work,

beacuse as you can see the image on the top i have already 4 partions and it doesnt let me create the unalloacted space as it says something about dynamic drive erorro or something like that so what i want to know is you know that hp tools partions( in the imnage above ) its 99mb so can i remove it i want to know whats in side it and that shall i remove this p[artion

Hmm....

Right-click this HP Tools partition and click "Change Drive Letter and Paths". Click "Add" then "OK". Open up the partition inside "My Computer" and take a look at what's inside. Report back with what you find (a screenshot would be great).

You should still be able to create a logical partition, and I'm not sure why you can't. Try using Easeus Partition Master. It works a lot like Disk Management does. But after you do a task, don't forget to click the "Apply" button in the bottom of the left pane.

I think you should just go ahead and delete that HP tools partition.

Then, using Easeus, Move the Recovery partition to the left so it's snugged up against your OS partition, leaving you with the unallocated space at the end of the drive. Does that make sense? If not, I can explain further. And if you don't know how to move it using Easeus, consult the program's Help menu.

but u know that software that u gave earleier will it overcome the problem of the limit of 4 partions cos in that way i wont have to get rid of the hp tools partion and i get a 5th partion . do u know if that will work . please thanks cos this will solve my problem fully.
