I do have an external floppy but I was able to get around it lastnight by disabling AHCI and running in IDE mode. Had a hard time getting to the BIOS. Had to hold ESC when booting then press F1 when prompted. After that I was able to do a clean install of XP. It does make sense now though, as originally it came loaded with Vista which has the driver and then I downgraded to XP. Now I was trying to take the SATA drive blank and install XP which would not recognize the HDD apparently.
Any downsides to disabling AHCI? All seems ok so far. Downloading the drivers now from the Toshiba site.

You can re-enable later on once you have the hard drive drivers installed I think.
My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
