Whenever keyboard or mouse is used to "wake up" the system after it goes into screen saver mode, active desktop re-appears, but desktop freezes within 10 seconds. I have to physically cycle the power to re-gain input control of the desktop. I have tested with and w/out screen saver enabled. I have tested with and w/out Hibernation enabled. I have tested with and w/out wireless input devices. The UPS complains when Hibernation is disabled, but I don't think it could cause this.

Do you have up to date chipset/graphics card drivers? If not, go to the website of your computer manufacturer and download the latest Windows 7 drivers for your specific model.

These are usually the cause of issues like this (or at least the first thing to try).

Think I have them all and up-to-date, but will check again. Might have something to do w/ATI card. ? Using two HDMI inputs on monitor - XB360 and win7 - started after I added 2nd HDMI input cable to monitor. Maybe it.?

Damaged/corrupted video drivers are usually the first suspect

Suspected the Graphics card - but have the latest driver. Maybe the monitor. Maybe I should use DVI instead of HDMI.
Thanks for the input.

FYI:
ATI (Radeon/AMD) JUST came out with a new driver for my version on the 17th. If you use ATI graphics, you might want to check AMD/ATI's site.
Maybe that will fix it.
Have had problems before w/using this card. Maybe it's the HDMI. Maybe it's ATI. Maybe it's the monitor(LG W2286L 21.5") I just want it to work properly.

I updated driver to the 2.17.10 release, did not fix. Disconnected HDMI and re-attached DVI - no more issues. Played with different settings for hours before giving up on HDMI. OH WELL.
Updated driver only from ATI. I can do w/out disabling the ATI hotkey poller, etc from "Services".
Will upgrade graphics one day. THANKS EVERYONE.

Are your cables shielded?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
