atapi.sys TDSS rootkit remover for those of you cleaning up after the KB977165 update

anyone who needs to remove the atapi.sys infection should use this tool
http://support.kaspersky.com/downloads/utils/tdsskiller.zip

then scan your computer with the usual tools i.e. malwarebytes,spybot, etc

For the older versions of TDSS rootkit, that tool should be fine. If you find that it doesn't help YOU, then your next best plan would be to follow the guidance in the pinned topics in This Forum, and post the recommended logs for review. One of us will be along to help you as time permits. Thanks!
