Just bought a new computer yesterday. Set it up last night. Everything ran fine. Installed a NetGear USB net adaptor and some Altec Lansing speakers. Downloaded AVG free and MBAM. It came preinstalled with a trial version of Trend Micro Internet Security, but I haven't activated it (it pops up time to time asking if I want to block this or that from running). Last night I also installed some software for my college algebra course and that worked fine. Before I shut it off it said it needed to install some windows uploads.
So, today I keep getting "not responding" msgs. It started with IE. So I downloaded firefox. Then it started with firefox. Then it started just on the computer itself (i tried to go into the computer management). It basically just gives the not responding msg and hangs. never does anything. once it asked me if i wanted to terminate the program because it wasn't running, i clicked yes and it still didn't do anything. It wont let me open up browsers or restart/shut down when it does this also. I have to push the power button. Once I restart it will work fine for like 20 minutes.
I was trying to post a msg on here about it a few minutes ago and it froze when I tried to paste my computer specs I had copied.
Im going to check the asus website to see if there are any updates i need to do. but i thought maybe someone on here could give me some advice. Should I call bestbuy or asus if it wont stop?
thanks =)
my computer is the ASUS CM5571 its here:

First of all, you shouldn't be running two AV programs at the same time.
Start with uninstalling AVG, using AVG Remover: http://www.avg.com/us-en/download-tools and see, if things will get back to normal.

i knew i wasn't possed to have two av programs running at once. but i didn't think the preinstalled was actually running because i never opened it or activated it. but with it occasionally popping up i figured i should look into how to uninstall it correctly. but i went ahead and got rid of the avg and everything seams good now. thanks for the help, i was about to catch a case of buyers remorse but it was just my own fault
haha =)
