Hello,

I received a new computer as a Christmas gift, my brother installed Windows XP home edition on the computer for me and copied all my old files to it. However, work took me out of town for a month and a half so I didn't get a chance to use for a more than a couple of hours. Now I'm back and I'm stuck with this bleeping computer that keeps crashing like a drunk at Mardi Gras.

To be specific the eb browsers are what seem to be crashing--I've downloaded everyone I can find, I don't think Internet Explorer has crashed, I use Firefox so I thought it was the problem, I went through their forums, turning off extensions and what not, but it still kept crashing. So I switched to Opera, still crashing, Seamonkey the same thing. I'm going to start bleeping in a minute, anyone know what's going on here?

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Build 2600
Service Pack: Service Pack 3
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500
Motherboard Model: ASRock G31M-S.
Motherboard Chipset: Intel G31 (Bearlake) + ICH7
Drive Model: Seagate ST3250410AS

My brother said there was some issue with the software that came with this cdrom drive, but he fixed. I wonder if that is the problem?
Drive Model: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50

I also tried this program: WhoCrashed, but every crash listed has a different program as the cause, which made me think it was a memory problem. I found this memory test program: Memtest86, according to this program there's nothing wrong with the memory.

I haven't been able to find a real hardware diagnostic program--a free one, anyway.

I also found HWiNFO32 which will generate a huge report on the hardware if you need it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Any information in Event Viewer that correlates to your crashes?
