Completely Remove All Versions of IE From My PC

Is there a removal tool for IE? I have used add/remove programs and search companion. I think all versions are gone but I am not sure. Is there an alternate removal tool to clean up any left behind stuff, specifically in the registry? I have used CCleaner and PowerTools Lite.

The reason I am asking is that Sophos anti-rootkit finds over 10,000 non-removable Zone Map registry entries. It looks like a list of blocked web sites to protect IE users, kind of like spybot s+d's and spyware terminators immunization lists are. It is a lot of clutter. I want to get rid of it.

I do not want to use IE again. I am fine with Chrome and Firefox.

Not possible to remove 'every trace' of IE in XP. It is very symbiotic with XP.

Thanks for responding. I recently installed the latest IE and then got rid of it.

I figured that would be the case. I am wondering about all of those hidden ZoneMap entries. I have heard that the new IE has some kind of immunization like that. What do you know of this?

Thanks for that.

The more I review these zonemap entries at random, the more it impressed upon me that they are immunization from Spybot and (or) Spyware Blaster, from when I used to have them.

It has to be from those two programs or IE because none of these sites I am seeing look familiar. There are lots of online casino sites listed. I never visit anything like that. The titles of most of them are odd. Nothing that I would type in. I pay very close attention to addresses that I am at when I surf. None of these entries ring a bell.

Sophos will not remove them for me. It says that they cannot be removed and won't let me check the boxes to remove them.

I am considering downloading Spybot and Spyware Blaster again and fully immunizing and then undoing the immunization with the actual programs and then uninstalling them again.
You would think that part of their uninstalling process would be to get that stuff out of the registry and host files.
My host files were filled up with redirects to local host, with similar bad url's or whatever. I got that taken care of though. :thumbsup:
