Pc doesnt load past welcome screen

hello, my sister has this issue. she boots her computer and it doesnt load past the welcome screen(light blue screen with welcome lol). i boot in safe mode w/o networking and it works, but when i try with networking it doesnt. i also ran recovery console chkdsk /p and /r and fixboot and fixmbr and still same problem, i ran malwarebytes/avg, ccleaners registry "cleaner" to no avail. any suggestions?!?!?!?!

If Safe Mode works but Safe Mode with Networking doesn't work then that would suggest to me that the problem may lie with the network adaptor driver. You could try reinstalling it.

well that didnt work, when i tried reinstalling it would just stay in the starting installation part, it wouldnt actually start...also i put in an old hdd and installed windows and it booted fine then i installed the same lan driver and it works fine. any other ideas please, thanks

You could try reinstalling the wireless driver.

Otherwise, maybe you should try a repair install:

i tried to do repair and not recovery but the R option doesnt appear after i press F8 to agree then it shows my hdds/ partitions there is no option for repair, only install and delete and esc. how would i reinstall the wireless driver ?

The tutorial uses the video driver as an example but hopefully it gives enough detail for you to update the wireless driver.

i have all the updated drivers and wireless one too. but it wont let me reinstall the nic driver in safe mode...what could have caused this? could it be a faulty hdd? if so howcome it lets me boot in safe mode?!

View the log file size, and if it is over capacity then that could cause the issue. At the welcome screen hit ctrl+alt+del itll bring up a classic NT/2000 login screen. It will provide you with more information then the welcome screen will.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

A faulty hard drive is always a possibility I guess. You could run a diagnostic test on the drive if you are worried about it.

Another thing you could try is a repair install.

Sorry, I forgot I had already recommended a repair install in a previous post.

Maybe you could try running the System File Checker in Safe Mode.

no worries, ill ty this when i get home(should be shortly) and update. thanks!

Edit: i get a server error message stating the server not being available.
