i tried to do repair and not recovery but the R option doesnt appear after i press F8 to agree then it shows my hdds/ partitions there is no option for repair, only install and delete and esc. how would i reinstall the wireless driver ?

The tutorial uses the video driver as an example but hopefully it gives enough detail for you to update the wireless driver.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

icant see the link cause im at work, but im assuming its the with using the xp cd and Repair option right? becuase ive tried that and it doesnt give me a Repair option but i have dont the recovery console to no avail

Maybe you could try running the System File Checker in Safe Mode.

Edit: i get a server error message stating the server not being available.
