I'm telling you the truth, well somewhat. Yes - HoneyMonkey is real, and NO - it's not his pet monkey. It's the 'Strider HoneyMonkey Exploit Detection System.'
This is sooo needed with today's web. It will auto-crawl the web and land on websites using the different XP systems. They will start with an unpatched SP1 and if it gets any "hits," they will send in the SP2 unpatched and if it gets any "hits," they will send in the SP2 updated. THis will allow them better understanding as to what rogue website operators are up to! I think this is great news for the internet. By using "HoneyMonkey," they will be able to find stuff much faster and even zero-day exploits. This is somewhat the same as their "HoneyPots" system, which looks for security holes in Window Servers.
They have the legal team ready to shut down the sites, upon detecting them.
