Help
i like to see a list of stickys on how to fix or turn on /see hardware using wins 7 . my friend has a asua p/c with wins 7 ,you have to turn on things ,its not plug and play -like getting the cd-rom to run a program disc ! what a pain -nanny set up ! thxs for other help over the years of reading here .......now this is more learning to do ..

Actually, Windows 7 is plug and play. I'm not sure what version of 7 your friend has, but Microsoft built Win 7 as a plug and play OS. It's amazing how many drivers are included with 7. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with your friends install.

Is your friend trigger happy when it comes to disabling services? Remember, you need the Plug and Play service running for devices to be detected.
But, like jmtjet says, there is no need for a list like that. Only older legacy hardware seems not to be installed automatically (or, at least, via Windows Update).
