Well l can't work it out!
Am using IE8 and thought l'd try an additional browser (Firefox).
Downloaded it, and made sure it wasn't my default browser. Now l have two desktop icons, one for IE8 (main browser) and one for FF (messing around with browser).
Every time l load FF, it goes straight into Google France. I've looked at all the toolbar options and l just can't sus out how to hardcode the startup to be Google UK.
I'm obviously being a div here, but can someone please help?
Thanks

Tools/Options/Main

You can, in the drop down menu that shows up, choose your homepage (or none) from there; just remember to press "OK."
Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one should be silent.

Thanks jgweed.
Your answer is not strictly correct as there is no "main" heading. I think that should have read "general".
Anyway, pasted the google url into it and it now comes up with google uk when l log in, so that's great for starters.
Now in IE l get a list of all my favorites listed down the left hand side. I've imported all of these into FF and can view them via the bookmarks button, but how do l get these to show up down the keft hand side as in IE?
Sorry to be a pain but l'm trying to get FF to look the same as IE (or as near as possible). If it's better, then l'll switch over to it rather than IE.
Thanks again

What Broni said.
But by default this button is not present. You need to customize the toolbar. Right click on toolbar, select Customize. Then drag the bookmarks button (shown by Broni) on the toolbar.

Many thanks to all.

I use the myFireFox theme, but there's also Vista-aero. Both will give FireFox the look and feel of IE8. Might be just what you're looking for.
