WerFault.exe is running and keeps multiplying This using 99% of my cpu

I have a vista 64 AMD X2 64 duo core laptop. I have a sister laptop that is similar. I have the same software on both. They are both up to date with windows stuff as wel as the other programs. One laptop is fine . The other has recently started to max out the cpu. The performance monitor shows at least one, usually two or more instances of the werfault.exe running and sucking up all the cpu. I have done the disable on the problems program. No help. I have system restored to when it worked earlier only to have this all start happening all over again. I need to get advise on what I can do next. Thanks, Beryla

Turn it off.

1. Go to Start and type Problem Reports and Solutions in the search field.
2. Click on Problem Reports and Solutions from the search list.
3. Click on Change settings in left pane.
4. Click the Advanced settings link.
5. Select Off to turn off Error Reporting.

Hi Broni, Thanks for the fast reply. I have done that procedure several times before and after the system restore operations that I have completed. It has not eliminated the problem. I have rebooted several times also just in case. I am i need of the next best thing. Cheers, Beryla

Download Autoruns for Windows: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx
No installation required.
Simply unzip Autoruns.zip file, and double click on autoruns.exe file to run the program.
Go File>Save, and save it as AutoRuns.txt file to know location.
You must select Text from drop-down menu as a file type:

Hi Broni, Hang on for a minute on that autorun scan that I just sent you. It is from my ther laptop that has been running OK. Sorry I will do one on the other one in a minute.

Go Start and in "Start search", type in:
services.msc
Hold CTRL and SHIFT keys, press Enter.

Services window will open.
Scroll down to Windows Error Reporting Service.
Stop the service (if running).
Then, right click on it, click "Properties" and under "Startup type" set it to "Disable" from drop-down menu.
Restart computer.

Hi Broni, This is the scan of the offending unit. I was in the middle of a system restore when I got your message. This reflects the image of what it looks like when it is working. It is ok right now but I don't know for how long. I have a few windows updates waiting in the tray and may upload those and send another scan for you. Thank you so much, Beryla

Hi Bro, Here is the latest. I have not changed anything since the Autorun C. It is now running with four werfaults. I have done nothing except a reboot since C. Hey I am trying to upload this most rcent attachment and it won't lad up. What d I need to do. I have a snapshot of this thing with all this stuff going on. Please advise.
