im still getting used to win 7 so is it normal to reboot in to a boot screen with choices like normal and safemode after 20 updates were being updated as i was shutting off. you know. it will install the updates then shut off the computer when it has finished. just curious. i've done a couple of restarts and everything seems to be working fine. it's a brand new computer so i really dont want any issues.

-thanks

No you shouldn't get options for Safemode etc unless you pre-empted the Windows Update process by shutting down before it was finished.
It sounds as if things are working OK so I wouldn't worry.
