MBR ERROR PLEASE HELP

hello I have an MBR error on my computer. I have tried to change the BIOS settings to boot from the CD DRIVE first but does not work. I try to access the Recovery console and it does not work. I try pushing F8 when the computer is booting and it just goes to the MBR ERROR with a black screen. I dont know how to get to dos mode or if I even can. No matter what I do it goes to the MBR ERROR. Can someone please help????

its an Emachine T6412 about 4 years old

Please, explain, what does "doesn't work" mean?

Im trying to replace the MBR on my EManchine by reinstalling in thru DOS but I cant get the DOS window up or the recovery. I dont know what to do. In other words all my options that ive looked up on the net are not working. Can u help?

Try tapping the F10 key while the computer boots to see if it takes you to a boot menu. There you should be able to choose to boot from a CD.

Ive tried that as well but once again it takes me to MBR ERROR Im wondering if im just screwed. Ive tried everyting I can think of

MBR error shouldn't prevent you from changing boot order in BIOS, so you're able to boot from CD and access recovery console to run fixmbr command.

Ok this might be a first but it doesnt keep me from chsnging ther boot order in BIOS but it DOES NOT boot from the CD DRIVE first, or maybe it does I dont know. All I know is that so far no matter what ive done it still goes to the same error.l

If you're getting same error, that means you're not booting from the CD.
What kind of CD is it?
If you changed boot order, so the CD drive is listed first and if you have bootable CD, after restart, at some point, you should see this:
Press any key to boot from CD
Do you see it?

No I sure dont. But in the BIOS settings it shows that the CD DRIVE boots first. Whats am I doing wrong?

What type of CD do you use?
Was your CD drive in working condition before all these troubles?

its a WINDOWS XP CD and yeah it worked good. I just dont get it. So frustrating. lol

I assume, you put the CD in and you restart computer?
Did you try to clean the CD?

If it still fails to boot, try to create another bootable CD...
Download Windows Recovery Console: http://www.thecomputerparamedic.com/files/rc.iso
Download, and install free Imgburn: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
Using Imgburn, burn rc.iso to a CD.
Boot to the CD...
