I turned Javascript off while looking for spyware/viruses on my computer and can't remember how to turn it back on.

Will someone please help me?

You can't "turn off Javascript on your computer", you can only turn it off within your Internet browser(s). Therefore, it can be enabled back from their preferences menu(s) as well.

E.g. in Firefox, this is done in Tools→Options→Content→Enable Javascript. In other browsers it might be different, but still pretty easy to find I think.

If Youtube is telling you that, then you need the latest version of Flash. Use the uninstall tool at the link and then install the new version.

I uninstalled and downloaded the new version. Youtube says this......

Hello, you seem to have JavaScript turned off. Please enable it to see search results properly.

According to FF java is enabled.

Java and JavaScript are not the same thing. It's a browser issue. You're going to have to tinker around with addons until something works. There's no easy answer for this.

I found out what the problem is, I'm an idiot!

Thanks to all of you for helping me. A kick in the butt probably would have been the best thing to do.

When I checked my addons, I realized that I didn't allow the page. I have noscript.

Hi again,

As you know...

NoScript is a extremely powerful tool that pre-emptively blocks malicious scripts and allows JavaScript, Java and other potentially dangerous content only from sites you trust. But.... you have got to remember to enable it on sites you trust or you will be unable to do anything productive...

Hang in there. It just takes a little getting used too.

You will get the hang of it eventually. My 7, 12 and 13 yr olds use it without difficulty. But then again the poor little ones are stuck with a super techno geek Dad.Posted Image

As far as they are concerned they are smarter than everyone....

Seriously though...

NoScript has saved my tail so many times that as far as I am concerned it is well worth the aggravation and learning curve.

Take care,
