I am trying to connect my daughter's laptop (Dell Inspiron) to the internet through a Linksys router. She has a Netgear wireless card (MA401) 16 bit-802.11b. I called Netgear support and they told me that the card serial number is invalid (?) although I bought it a few years back. Therefore, they wouldn't help me unless I wanted to pay! (yeah, right!).

The Linksys router is a WR454GS version 7. Short of calling Linksys, what do I do? Drivers appear to be up to date. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I neglected to mention she is running XP Pro.
