Their was something I have been curious about for a while. I've been quite sick of windows and other laptops clunkiness and I felt it was was time for a changed for when I go into collage soon. I am going into a programming major, and I was wondering if programming is essentially the same on a mac? I know Microsoft has the .net framework but is it absolutely necessary? Would I be able too produce the same result on Mac OS X?
If I am helping you and I do not respond within 24 hours, please send me a PM. :)

Programming is programming, and has nothing to do with the platform or language being used. You may want to wait and see what platform your university is using before making any decisions. The .NET framework may be necessary depending on the particular language in use.
