Aloha Kakou,

I have an Acer aspire One ZG5 AOA 150 netbook running on Windows XP SP3. Well, I had one. It got stolen so now I'm using a loaned one. Nonetheless it's the same model. Well the Webcam on this computer won't work for some reason. It doesn't show up in the device manager under imaging devices or unknown devices.

Things I have done:

I have uninstalled the software for it and tried to install the new drivers but it keeps giving me a message to connect the webcam before I install the drivers. Specifically "The Acer Crystal Eye webcam has (sp?) not found! Please plug in the Acer Crystal Eye webcam and run installation again."

I have tried system restore, which for some reason only worked once and then wouldn't work again even to reverse the operation.

I have tried add new hardware and "Have Disk". Even with all hardware selected it still wouldn't show anything when I opened the .inf file for the Acer Webcam drivers. Specifically LiteOn 5.8.33.1 and Suyin 1.0.1.3_XP86

I have moved all of the pictures out of "My Pictures" (?) Someone said it might work. It didn't.

I have uninstalled all Windows Live components.

I have run CCleaner.

I have uninstalled the USB in the device manager, and let it reinstall.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I am pretty much stuck at the moment.

Let me know if there's anything I forgot to mention,

Mahalo for your time,

Mr B.

I can't seem to find any topics relating to the webcam on that site. Any other ideas?
