im working on my moms computer and she wants to format back to initial settings
there is a recovery on drive d: and im under the impression this is all you need to do
is this true and how do i do it
its a desktop hp pavillion 700 model P98528

Be aware, all data and programs installed by YOU will be gone.
To proceed, press F10 key at HP logo.

From HP Manual :
1. Back up all data from your hard disk.
2. Connect the AC adapter to the computer.
3. Insert the bootable Recovery CD in the CD-ROM drive.
4. Reboot and, when you see the HP logo, press F2.
5. Select the CD-ROM drive as the first boot device, exit from the BIOS Setup utility, and reboot.

i managed to restore now im missing the netrork controller driver and cant access the internet
i tried searching hps website but cant find what im looking for
any help
its a hp pavillion 753n

Hmmm....nothing at HP site. That's integrated ethernet controller, so we may have to reinstall chipset driver.
Download System Information for Windows: http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html to your Desktop.
Get SIW Standalone (English-Only).
Double click on siw.exe to run the program.
Go File>Create Report File>HTML
Save the file to known location.
Zip the file, and attach it to your next reply.

According to HP web site it has a Realtek RTL8101L 10/100 LAN
