Hello,
I have a HP Mini 110-1100 and i was getting these error messages whenever i went into standby telling me that my Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller was stopping me from going into standby and if the problem persisted that i should update my Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller drivers. So i updated the drivers but now i cant get internet through the Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller i can only get wireless... I went into the device manager and it says that there are problems with it. i have tried to reinstall/rollback my drivers but it keeps saying "An error occurred during the installation of the device. The system cannot find the file specified." is there a way to fix this problem?? Thanx,
-Divide100

Let's get the ball rolling with assisting you.
What operating sysytem are you using?
Second, did you make sure you installed the correct drivers that work with that operating sysytem and that device?
Third, are the drivers you installed a BETA version?
Forth, have you tried going to windows update through your now working wireless connection, to see if there is a hardware patch update?
We'll wait for your reply.

Ok I've been searching the web for code 28 error, a lot of hits are refering to HP drivers not installed errors.
Heres what I suggest.
since your using wireless for now...
Go to your start menu, look for Settings.
Click control panel.
Look for system Icon, double click it.
Look for HARDWARE tab.
Click Device Manager.
Look for Network Adapters.
If the driver is missing there should be an exclamation point icon over the eithernet controllers Icon.
If the driver is corrupt it will say so with error code. if error code right click icon and choose uninstall, let it do so.
Do not uninstall your wireless adaptor!!!
Go to http://www.hp.com/#Support
Look for Step #1 and click Download drivers and software (or firmware)
Option 2 now becomes available.
In OPTION 2
Choose where it says "OR AUTOMATICALLY DETECT PRODUCTS" click the tab, if its a plugin, let it run or install, it will automatically scan your system for HP related drivers that are out of date or are missing.... let the scan run.
When it is finished, it will offer you all the drivers your system needs.
Download any drivers it offers you.
Save to a location you will find them quickly....like the desktop for instance.
It may even offer you a chipset driver for your motherboard, download and install that FIRST before installing the eithernet drivers.
Install the eithernet drivers and reboot!
Windows should now report the device is either installed and ready to use.
Let me know how this turns out.
As always good luck!
