My room mate won't get anti-virus for his windows computer claiming it is a government conspiracy. I am hoping to show him its not by hacking into it with an open port. since we are on a lan if his computer gets infected mine is at risk as well.

Is this at school or home?
I'm sure the IT dept. has measures in place
If this is at home and you use a router, just be sure to give it a strong secure password
If you keep your computer's AV tools up to date, you have nothing to worry about
Let him play suicide and see what happens when he toasts his song collection
Hacking his computer, as pointed out, is against forum rules

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits
