I did a search on this, but am still a little confused, so just wanted to check and make sure that I'm about to do this reinstallation right.
I got hit with the Internet Security 2010 virus, so need to start fresh.
I have a Reinstallation CD for Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2, a Dell Dimension Resource CD that says "Drivers And Utilities", a documentation CD, and a CD that contains Word Perfect. I probably don't need these last two, right?
My understanding is that I should first run the KillDisk program, then run the Reinstallation CD?
My confusion is the KillDisk thing. Is it absolutely necessary that I run that before doing the Reinstallation CD? It seemed like some people were running KillDisk, and some people weren't.
I just don't want to mess up my computer more than it already is.
Thank you for your help.

You don't need to run KillDisk. But you should delete any existing partitions and recreate them during the install.
