Windows 7 ultimate Video Will NOT return from sleep state

new install of windows 7 ultimate. Already had to pull cmos battery once to reset a hibernate that wouldn't wake.
Set advanced power options so that systems does not hibernate.
Just went to machine, tapped keyboard, it responded by illuminating, machine seemed to respond and wake, but no video.
Is this a bios setting i need to change, why wont this come back?

Do you mean your monitor stays blank? Does power LED on your monitor blink when this happens?

yes the monitor STAYED black, i seem to have resolved the issue by updating the chipset drivers and the graphic card drivers. no other settings have changed and all seems to be working correctly.

Yes, 99% of sleep/hibernate issues are because of faulty drivers. The first thing you should do after a clean install is update all your drivers (go to your manufacturer's website, not the Device Manager).
