Re-run Autoruns, go to "Logon" tab and UN-heck:
+ "NVIEW"
Restart computer and the error shouldn't be bothering you anymore.

Thanx broni no longer getting the run dll error. Im going to finish updating some more drivers from the compaq site to see if we can eliminate this BSOD. Like i said before i can see where progress is being made. went and look in my add/remove programs and see programs that I have uninstalled still hanging in there. Could some of these programs be a culprit?

I'm glad, we're making progress
As for Add\Remove, sometimes, it happens (dead listings).
If you're 200% sure, some program was uninstalled and it's still listed, you can use Add\Remove Cleaner: http://www.intelliadmin.com/index.php/downloads/ (toward the end of the page) to remove those dead entries.

Broni thanks for the link to add/remove cleaner. Add/Remove programs list looks current to me now. I have updated some drivers for this pc. after doing this i thought i would see if i could boot up in safe mode. Not able to do this. when i tried i did get the bsod with the 0x0000007b error, of course when i went to load from last known config it worked. the reason i want to boot up in safe mode is to try and run some malware programs. it seems funny how the pc wont allow me to update any of my anti virus programs. like i stated earlier the down loads will freeze halfway through.

I strongly suggest, you start new topic at "Am I Infected?" forum. It looks like you got something.

Driver Sweeper should have removed any and all entries related to anything nVidia related. Maybe the nview.dll was a remnant of a virus?

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.

The file was removed by Driver Sweeper, but not the registry entry.
The registry was still calling for non-existing file, thus the error.
If you look at his Autoruns log, you'll see this:

Quote

"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"
[...]
+ "NVIEW" "NVIDIA nView Desktop and Window Manager 31.90 " "NVIDIA Corporation" "c:\windows\system32\nview.dll"

Not a virus.
