So i have a quick question about the NAT setting on a router. I play CoD Modern Warfare 2. And i noticed that it said my NAT setting was strict and go the (x) website to change it. So before i tried i did a little research on my own about NAT. Now from what i can tell having an open, moderate, or strict NAT doesn't affect my security at all, but i wanted to ask some more proficient networking wizzes before i tried.

EDIT: Will the NAT setting actually affect my security? (lol the original post didn't have a question >.<)

Thanks

You are right in saying NAT doesn't affect your security. NAT simply takes your private lan IP address which isn't routable over the internet and encapsulates it using the IP address your router recieved from the modem which is routable. What you are lookng for is called port forwarding. The firewall restricts what ports can connect to the internet. You need to find out what ports the game communicates on and open those ports while you are gaming.
