I recently got a Mac Mini and I'm looking for a good backup disc to use with Time Machine.app. The one Apple sells is wireless and $300. I'd rather not spend so much if there's another viable option out there. It is 1TB, but $300. Eh.

I'm really not picky, I just want something reliable. It can be hardwired or wireless, if it's affordable.

I currently have a Western Digital for my PC, but I read it'd have to be formatted for it to work with the Mac. It is possible to just partition half of it for the Mac, or would it still be a PC format disc?

Another somewhat related question I have: What's the best way to network my Mac with my PC?

Also, in need of an external USB soundcard, so that I can use my Logitech G51 system. If anyone can recommend one of them as well.

Thanks for any help, it's always appreciated.
