Hi,

I've recently started a University course in animation and Illustration and they use ONLY macs. An upcoming project has us editing using Final Cut Pro, which Im sure will be a great program, and I love Macs in general. I just can't afford one at the mo,

So my question is, if I get Premiere for my PC, will I struggle to translate between the two. I mean, do they use fairly similar techniques and have a similar layout or are they completely different worlds, FCP and Premiere?

I like to do the majority of my work at home, so if theyre similar programs, I can collate my work to say; edit and trim the video in premiere, export it, then add effects when I get on FCP at Uni. Is this possible?

To try and put it simply (I know Im rubbish at explaining).

If I was to learn how to use Premiere before starting the FCP project, will I be one step ahead, or will I be starting again?

Thanks for any response in advance!
