'...So I had to find a graphics card that outputted video and sound over HDMI/DVI. I chose the Sapphire Radeon HD2400 Pro (HDMI version), £30.00 from e-buyer delivered next day...'
but it depends on your usage.

Did some research on Ebay, would you say this card would work?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ATI-RADEON-X1550-PCI...=item414c27a0fa
Looking for something cheap, "buy now" would be better then bidding. My old PC had a video card which made a hell of a lot of noise! Sounded like a car engine. Will this model make terrible noises?
EDIT: I checked your above post, seems awesome. I tried to find that model on Ebay and couldn't find it, is there a shorter name of the model people use? If not i'll have to look in stores, either way is cool.
EDIT: I tried the name under the title in bold to the link you gave above (ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro / PCIe 16x ) and got a few good pages. Not sure if this is the same model though. (I'm so bad at this lol)

It's cool, didn't plan on playing anything to that scale anyway. Thanks for the info, Balt.

I'll check it out, awesome thanks fallen. My parents don't use Amazon, they use Ebay which might make things problematic for them (no account set up there) They are also paying for this, I'll look into getting the Amazon version though.
