at my school i, as have hundreds of other students, noticed a file called 'bho.dll' when opened with notepad it shows some events such as documents and some sites accesed.

ive hidden mine so i dont have to put up with it but what is it? deleting or moving it results in a new one being made.

my first guess is a keylogger app. extension but i wanted verification by someone with a little bit more knowledge than me.

It depends on file location and its properties
It may be legit: http://www.file.net/process/bho.dll.html
It may be not: http://www.threatexpert.com/files/BHO.dll.html
Since the computer is not your property, your best cause of action is to take the subject to your teacher, or IT person.

Still, this is not your computer, so you don't have any right to make changes to it.

You're silly...LOL
What do you by "hiding"?
Hiding a file doesn't prevent the file from running.

theres a way to go into properties and mark the file as hidden, i know it doesnt stop it from running but it stops cluttering up my documents (i have an obsession with being very neat in my docs)
