I have a Dell XPS600 with two SATA 250GB hard drives operating in Raid 0. I also have a third backup drive with all my data files.

I would like to install a new 750 GB drive without Raid. Is it possible to (1) install the new drive, (2) migrate the data/operating system on the current Raid 0 C: drive to the new drive and then (3) make the new drive my primary C: drive? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I've not tried it...but part of me says that it would work..if you can find cloning software guaranteed to work on a RAID 0.

The destination drive for any software would be a single drive, so that would be normal. But it's the RAID and transfer of data that would be the problem, IMO.

This looks like it might, but you will pay: http://www.partition-tool.com/landing/serv...CFVFM5QodaD-63g

Any good Cloning software like Ghost or Acronis will allow you to take an image of the old drive and re-install it on the new drive.
