BleepingComputer.com: Red/blue lines appearing on monitor.

Hi, I've recently upgraded to windows 7 and i've noticed when i go to play a video (downloaded not from youtube or such) their will be these red boxes with lines going through them or just lines going all the way down the video. And currently in my browser their is blue boxes with lines going through them.. Is their a way to solve this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a failing graphics card to me....

I was googling and found pretty much the same thing was hoping it was something smaller though... =( o well. U have an idea of how much a decent graphics card costs?

(I don't run any games really just normal browsing.)

Pretty cheap for a really low end one ($20), to really expensive for the super-duper ones ($200+).

For your basic purposes, though, probably about $50-$100. Make sure you get one that you know will work with your computer. Worst thing to do would be to buy one, and it not work with your hardware setup.

I don't have any specific recommendations for where to buy one, as I never have before. Besides a local PC shop, eBay is the first thing that comes to mind. Once again, make sure you are getting one that you know will work (preferably the same brand/model, if possible).

any way

i would update flash
then try a other browser
and then update video and chipset drivers
and play a fullscreen or a video(not flash) to see if they work
and then if it wont work then you can try a new card

See, if same thing happens in Safe Mode.
It may be:
- bad video driver
- video card overheating
- bad card

You might also need to upgrade your graphics drivers if you upgraded to 7. I'd check with either the manufacturer or Windows Update to see if there's one available.
